Nolen Named Food Safety Systems Director

(North Little Rock - February 23, 2001) Safe Foods Corporation has announced the appointment of Gary M. Nolen as Director, Food Safety Systems. Nolen will be responsible for the development, optimization, and installation of the application systems for the Company’s food safety technologies. Nolen had previously served as the Company’s Associate Director for Research and Development.

He has probably been in as many meat and poultry processing plants as any individual in America. He understands the systems and the issues. He brings a wealth of knowledge and experience to our company and to our customers.”

Nolen has thirty years of technical project and program management experience, twenty years of experience in managing sensitive U.S. Department of Defense projects and programs, and eleven years of experience in criminal and technical investigations. He is a Certified Food Safety Professional (“CFSP”) and has completed food safety audits at multiple poultry processors to determine best methods for pathogen reduction. Nolen developed an ultra violet light process to remove pathogens in poultry marinade and enhance shelf life. He also developed an automated control process for chlorine disinfection in poultry processing and developed pH controls to enhance chlorine disinfection.

He has provided practical engineering solutions on multiple projects involving process automation/control and implementation of unique processes in the food industry.
